Having lived all my life in Gujarat, this was such a new thing for me. 
On the menu were : 
1. A pinch of salt to begin the dinner which acted as the palette cleanser
2. Gol Pani : a drink which simy means Jaggery ( gol) and water ( pani) with sabja seeds - very refreshing and so simple
3. Bateta - masala wale potatoes - @chitritajewellery Krithika loved this 😊
4. Dal samosa - so different from the regular samosas that we are used to..made with a filling of moong dal and onion greens - loved that fact it was mild and crispy
5. Rushon bateta  or Russian bateta - Arpitha told us that no one is sure how the name happened but one story is that the thin vermicelli used to coat the potatoes look like a russian guy with beard. Well whatever the case might..yumm
6. Sheer korma - this vermicilli based desert needs no introduction...absolutely delicious
7. Channa bateta - my favourite for the day - a sabzi made of black channa and potatoes. It had a slight sweetness which reminded me of my other favourite Gujarati daal
8. Khitchda - the vegetarian version of haleem
8. Rice with moong daal and a kadhi made with paani used to cook the moong daal.

The sweet - Angeer ka halwa was simply out of the world 😍

@krithikacsekaran and Sushma..had such a lovely time with you guys. @ipsitag you are chirpy and sweet

Instagram post 2187846127151660776_1557084012 When i started including protein ( apart from our regular dal or sambar)..i started with sprouts salad etc. After eating salads came the what next Moment ? and thats what got me to experiment with tikkis made with channa, rajma, soya chunks etc etc ( without adding aloo and no frying/shallow frying). This is todays tikki - Soya chunks tikki with broccoli, peanuts, masala pwds ( incl paratha masala from Pawani Kiran Mutturu 😉). It also has garlic, ginger, green chillies and a tsp of atta just to bind.

Salad of the day : cooked whole masoor dal, onions, Tomatoes, cucumbers, green capsicum, peanuts, sour star fruit. Instead of adding lime juice..i added sour star fruit and the salad was yumm !!!
